Illustration has always held a significant place in my life and has evolved into a much valued avocation in my adult years.  Literature was a major influence in my family life growing up and I have incorporated that exposure to great stories into inspiration for my illustrating endeavors.  Early on I was introduced to literature with animals as prime characters such as Watership Down, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Aesop’s Fables. The animal world has been a natural  place for me to turn to for inspiration for my illustrations. I was raised to not be afraid of animals and have always been amazed by their behavior; why do they do what they do? Spinning anthropomorphic tales and scenes about animals has been a great pastime of mine.

The bulk of these pieces are stained glass panels with a copper foil overlay on the front and back of the glass for detail work and shadows.  They are primarily cropped photos to focus on the design and not the framing with some taken in natural light and others over a lightbox. I have also included some of my glass on glass mosaic pieces which use a crystal clear epoxy resin to seal the glass together.
